The new National Electronic Resident Agreement (NERA) resource is now available, with a number of ACSWA members already having adopted the new technology. ACSWA's own resource ceased in July this year (which will keep document current to September). We encourage members to take up the new resource. THE GRAND PLAN, a new vision for the care of older Australians, is the name of the national aged care election strategy, which aims to celebrate the older people who have made our country great and seek bipartisan support for more choice and access to aged care services within a properly funded and regulated system.
What ACSWA members can do TODAY!
An easy way many members have adopted to ensure their MP hears the voices of the older people in their facility is to send a postcard to each of their residents. Not only will the local MP in your electorate receive a letter which is automatically generated when an online postcard is sent, but your residents will also receive a postcard which lets them know someone thinks they are grand.
Every postcard you send will help THE GRAND PLAN national aged care campaign achieve our grand vision for the better care of our older Australians - so ask your staff and residents’ families and friends to send a postcard to your residents today. For information on how you and your organisation can get involved in the campaign, go to www.thegrandplan.com.au.
